Tiny Dale Creative, based in Boston, Massachusetts, operates tinydalecreative.com and the Letter & Form game hosted here. This notice also covers aggregate analytics used by our earlier Wordglow and Letter & Form editions. Linked websites, including Tiny Dale Books, Roslindale Spins, and retailers, may have their own privacy notices.
Information collected and why
Website visits
Our hosting and security providers process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, requested pages, and request times to deliver the site, maintain reliability, and investigate errors or abuse.
Playing Letter & Form
The game creates a guest identifier and stores a player name, game boards, words played, progress, scores, and timestamps. This lets you resume play, track your results, and use the daily edition. Guest play does not require an email address.
Sharing a score
Posting to the public scorebook is optional. If you choose to post, your player name, score, best word, and edition date become visible to other visitors. Your email address is not included. A result you share through another app is handled by that app.
Optional accounts
Signing in is optional and uses an account identifier and email address, or information supplied by your chosen sign-in provider, to connect your saved game to your account. The sign-in page shows which options are available.
Contacting us
When you submit the contact form, we use your name, reply email address, selected topic, and message, to respond, provide support, or handle your request. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your enquiry.
Cookies and saved progress
Letter & Form uses a first-party cookie called lf_reader to recognise a guest player. It is set with a lifespan of up to one year. Game drafts and preferences are also stored in your browser. Browser storage keeps your optional account sign-in session.
Clearing cookies or browser storage can remove access to guest progress on that device. It does not automatically delete records stored on the server. The site code does not include advertising pixels or third-party marketing analytics.
Studio analytics
We measure visits with a random browser identifier that expires after 90 days without a visit. A separate visit ends after 30 minutes of inactivity. Analytics records contain a page path without URL queries, a broad device category, the referring website name, and active game seconds. Play time pauses when the game is hidden or unfocused, or after 60 seconds without interaction. Analytics does not store emails, words played, or IP addresses, and is not linked to player profiles. Registered account counts are shown separately as aggregate totals.
Analytics is disabled for browsers using Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. You can clear the analytics identifier in browser site storage; clearing all site data also affects saved progress as described above. Anonymous activity records are retained to measure product trends, with no scheduled deletion currently.
How long information stays
Game records are retained to support saved progress and score history. There is currently no scheduled automatic deletion of inactive game profiles. Contact information may be retained to resolve an enquiry and keep a record of the response. To limit spam, the contact form keeps temporary request counters using a keyed hash of the connection IP address. These counters expire within 24 hours and are removed during subsequent contact requests. Message contents are not stored in the website database. Email copies, provider logs, and backups follow mailbox and provider retention settings.
Your choices and requests
You can browse the site without an account, play as a guest, and choose whether to post a score. You can clear browser storage through your browser settings, bearing in mind the effect on saved progress described above.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information through our contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing or complain to a privacy regulator. We may need information to verify your request and locate the relevant records. A public player name alone may not establish ownership of a guest profile.
